King Hussein/ Allenby Bridge:
The Allenby/ King Hussein Bridge is the closest border crossing to both
Jerusalem and Amman, located approximately between the capital Amman and
Jerusalem. It crosses the Jordan River and connects Israel/ Palestinian
Territories with Jordan. Since it crosses into the Palestine Territories, and
Palestine is not an independent state, it is an unofficial border. The
Jordanian authorities do not grant entry visas to foreign passport holders at
this crossing, in contrast to border crossings with Israel. Tourists who wish
to travel to Jordan must be in possession of a visa from Jordan in
advance. Those who leave Jordan via the Allenby Bridge may return by
showing the exit visa.
